We recently had the privilege of producing a promotional video for the Australian Industry Energy Transitions Initiative (Australian Industry ETI), a landmark collaboration aimed at accelerating the transition to net zero emissions across Australia’s key industrial supply chains by mid-century.
Recognising the crucial role Australian industry plays in global decarbonisation efforts, the Australian Industry ETI brought together industry leaders to align the nation's economic activities with the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. The initiative focused on creating actionable pathways to decarbonise sectors including steel, aluminium, other metals (such as lithium, copper, and nickel), chemicals (such as explosives and fertilisers), and liquefied natural gas, supply chains that collectively represent a major share of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions and export income.
Convened by independent non-profits Climateworks Centre and Climate-KIC Australia, in collaboration with the Energy Transitions Commission, the initiative was chaired by Simon McKeon AO, Chancellor of Monash University and former CSIRO Chairman. The project also received support from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as part of its Advancing Renewables Program.
