Producing professional looking interview videos doesn't need to break the bank. In this video Charles Leyland interviews expert financial journalist and keynote speaker Alan Kohler.
With only enough budget for a single camera shoot, and a location for which we had little control over sound and lighting, we had to develop a shooting plan that could still allow for cutaways and also allow the editor to edit down the video and cut out any stumbles seamlessly. For this reason we opted to shoot in 4K, which provided opportunities to zoom in and out in post, essentially providing us with the cutaways to create a more dynamic edit.
This format of edit for an interview is standard and not expensive to produce. We were also able to export the audio component for use as a podcast, extending the distribution platforms.
