Promotional Video – Hop It, Yarra Valley Wine Tours

A warm invitation to potential tourers!

When globetrotters Sara and Jonathan finally returned home to Victoria after many years away, they knew they wanted to share what they had learned about simple, easy travel. They soon discovered a passion for sharing this knowledge with visitors to the Yarra Valley & Mornington Peninsula. Their vision, to help visitors connect to this food and wine lovers’ paradise, eventually became Hop It, a hop on/hop off bus service exploring different routes around the region.

Hop on, hop off is a way to safely navigate Victoria’s world-class food and wine destinations without the need for a designated driver, and without sticking to someone else’s pre-planned tour. You get to choose where you hop off independently from other groups on the bus. This works both for day-trippers and also local venues as it means they don’t get overwhelmed by large groups of un-booked guests.

Sara and Jonathan approached us to produce a promotional video that showcased the experience of being on the bus without being too “salesy” and that had a “nostalgic/cinematic” colour grade. The opening shots very deliberately show that day’s travellers getting away from Melbourne and hitting the open road to “choose their own adventure”. Viewers then ‘travel’ with the passengers in a fly-on-the-wall experience as they explore the region. Drone shots were an important part of this promotional video as they show off the stunning natural beauty of the Yarra Valley & Mornington Peninsula and work in juxtaposition to the “from the ground up” shots of the city.

Promotional videos like this one extend a warm invitation to potential tourers. Our aim, to entice viewers to board the bus, was achieved through documenting the experience of other travellers while showcasing the stunning and diverse beauty of this world-famous food and wine destination.
